Odele Gives: Baby2Baby Donation

In partnership with Baby2Baby, we donated Odele products to more than 2,000 families in need this past Mother’s Day. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than by giving back to parents and families in our community who need it most. Where We’re Giving

Baby2Baby is a national nonprofit that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. Over the last 10 years, they've distributed over 175 million items to kids in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, disaster relief programs, foster care, hospitals and underserved schools.

Before the pandemic hit, 1 in 3 families in the U.S. were already choosing between diapers and food. The effects of the pandemic have only made it increasingly difficult for vulnerable families to access basic hygiene products, like shampoo. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Baby2Baby has distributed over 85 million essential items (including diapers, formula, clothing, cribs, soap, shampoo, school supplies, hand sanitizer, masks, food and more) to over one million children across the country impacted by COVID-19.

Our team has been so inspired by Baby2Baby’s initiatives and impact, and we’re excited to support their ongoing COVID-19 relief work by providing free, premium hair care essentials to the families they serve.

About the Odele Gives Program

Back in 2019 when the three of us founders were planning the launch + dreaming up the future of Odele, we knew we wanted to create a giving program that could make an impact from the onset. Sure, we had yet to sell a single bottle of shampoo—but we had a vision!

Under the toughest of circumstances, we began making good on that vision in June 2020 after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis (our home). We pledged $10,000 and 10,000 bottles of Odele product to organizations committed to fighting racial injustice, as well as those working to rebuild communities most impacted by civil unrest in the Twin Cities and beyond. Through that pledge and input from our community, we’ve donated $10,000 to the NAACP, Color of Change, Urban League Twin Cities and The Loveland Foundation, and our Baby2Baby donation has allowed us to surpass our 10,000 bottle commitment.

Almost a year later, we’re proud to be able to continue supporting organizations fighting for social + racial justice, women’s empowerment, mental health access and essential resources and housing for our unhoused neighbors.
